Shamas Demoret is an electronic dance music dj and producer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Using a variety of electronic dance styles as building blocks, Shamas focuses on a steady progression to a fever pitch each time he plays a party. Interspersed throughout each set you're likely to find occasional Pop elements represented as well, reflecting his belief that however superficial and trivial many pop anthems may be, the reason they sell millions of copies is occasionally that they completely rock .It's also a cheap trick to keep people dancing through what often becomes a maelstrom of deeper cuts.
After years spent spinning everything from Epic Trance to House to Techno on wax, Shamas began a slow technical evolution that eventually led to most of his current sets being presented either "live" with software and machines, or with CD's. Despite what will always remain a high degree of respect for the amount of effort, skill, and capital required to be a crowd-moving vinyl purist, he eventually identified digital performance mediums as a way to finally accomplish some of the crazier things he'd always wanted to present musically, a way to fully explore the possibilities of the dancefloor and the awesome people that give it life.
